Cann River is a small remote forest town on the Princes Highway in far east Gippsland
it is a great base to access the remote wilderness of Croajingalong National Park and local rainforests

a lovely short walk down to a cool and warm temperate rainforests 300 yr old Kanooka trees lining the small river and Gippsland Water Dragons lie motionless on the logs near the water (although I didn't see any)
Mackenzie River rainforest walk
a lovely short walk down to a cool temperate rainforest with black cockatoos screeching in the distance while lyrebirds rummage through the undergrowth

walk to the mysterious Clinton Rocks area where giant granite boulders covered in bright orange lichen line the coast - but you will need to boat up the river & cross the inlet to the beach as there are no vehicle access points and the camp sites around the lake are only accessible by boat
