    • 950g (2.1lb); 90mm x 108mm long
    • $US2,299
      • much sharper and more contrasty than the EF at apertures wider than f/5.6, much less lateral CA
      • The EF 50mm is almost half the length of the RF 50 (EF: 3.38 x 2.58″, RF: 3.54 x 4.25″) and feels about half as heavy (EF: 1.28 lbs, RF: 2.09 lbs)
  • Canon RF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM
    • released 2019
    • $US2699
    • 1st in the RF-Mount family to incorporate Blue Spectrum Refractive (BR) Optics (1st introduced with the Canon EF 35mm f/1.4 L II USM lens)

    • weather and dust-resistant construction and nice large lens hood
    • 82mm filter; 9 aperture blades;
    • ring type USM motor (same as the RF 50mm f/1.2)
    • close focus 0.85m with focus limiter 1.5m to infinity
    • 4.1 x 4.6“ / 104.14 x 116.84 mm

    • cat's eye bokeh circles towards the edges
    • seems to give excellent C-AF eye tracking with the Canon R at 5fps with subject walking towards camera
    • $US2699
  • Canon RF 85mm f/1.2L USM DS
    • coming 2019
    • DS = defocus smoothing coating which in this lens will lose 1.3-1.5EV of light transmission making it a T2.5 lens
    • $US2999
  • Canon RF 85mm f/1.8 IS STM
    • coming 2019
  • Canon RF macro lens
    • coming 2019
  • Canon RF 105mm f/1.4L
    • coming 2019

Manual focus lenses

  • Laowa 15mm f/2 Zero-D
    • Zero-D = minimal distortion but appears to have some aberrations of stars in edges 1)
    • 12 elements in 9 groups—including 2 aspherical elements and 3 extra-low dispersion elements
    • unlike the Sony version, it features 5 straight aperture blades to “produce a clean and sharp 10-point sunstar rendering.”
