{"id":4864,"date":"2011-09-03T21:26:57","date_gmt":"2011-09-03T11:26:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ayton.id.au\/wp02\/?p=4864"},"modified":"2011-09-03T21:26:57","modified_gmt":"2011-09-03T11:26:57","slug":"a-rose-on-the-first-day-of-spring-panasonic-gh-1-olympus-zd-50mm-macro-lens-canon-ring-flash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.ayton.id.au\/wp02\/?p=4864","title":{"rendered":"A rose on the first day of Spring &#8211; Panasonic GH-1 + Olympus ZD 50mm macro lens + Canon ring flash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On the first day of spring here in Melbourne, Australia, one of my David Austin roses was just starting to bloom, so what a good excuse to get my gear out.<\/p>\n<p>As you can see, I am not really a fan boy &#8211; I use whatever equipment I have that will do the job, in this case, a <strong>Panasonic GH-1 Micro Four Thirds camera<\/strong> with <strong>Olympus ZD 50mm f\/2.0 macro lens<\/strong> and a <strong>Canon Ring Flash<\/strong> in manual exposure mode at ISO 100, f\/14, flash output at its lowest (1\/64th). <\/p>\n<p>Although the rose was a gorgeous apricot color with pink tinges, I decided I would prefer to concentrate on the delicious tonings, curves and edges, and only conversion to black and white would achieve this.<\/p>\n<p>Minimal post-processing otherwise.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ayton.id.au\/gary\/photos\/ByLens\/PanasonicGH1\/OlyZD50mmMacro\/P1160194-1.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ayton.id.au\/gary\/photos\/ByLens\/PanasonicGH1\/OlyZD50mmMacro\/P1160194-1.JPG\" alt=\"rose\" width=\"600\/\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On the first day of spring here in Melbourne, Australia, one of my David Austin roses was just starting to bloom, so what a good excuse to get my gear out.
