{"id":5150,"date":"2012-01-16T21:27:36","date_gmt":"2012-01-16T11:27:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ayton.id.au\/wp02\/?p=5150"},"modified":"2012-01-16T21:28:55","modified_gmt":"2012-01-16T11:28:55","slug":"a-quick-close-up-portrait-of-a-beautiful-iridescent-green-blue-stag-beetle-using-the-panasonic-gh-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.ayton.id.au\/wp02\/?p=5150","title":{"rendered":"A quick close up portrait of a beautiful iridescent green-blue stag beetle using the Panasonic GH-1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I found this lovely beetle whilst going for a jog in a Eucalypt woodland near Melbourne and he obligingly sat on my hand for the long walk back to my car.<\/p>\n<p>He wouldn&#8217;t let go of my camera bag and as I only had a couple of minutes to get a photo, here is what I had to come up with &#8211; apologies it wasn&#8217;t in its native environment. My wife let him go while I was out so I didn&#8217;t get another chance for a shot.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, all my trawling on the net and I haven&#8217;t been able to find one with the same blue on green colors.<\/p>\n<p>I believe it belongs to the Lamprima spp. of the Lucanidae family and I guess it is a close relative of the Golden Green Stag Beetle.<\/p>\n<p>Note the large mandibles.<br \/>\n<a title=\"beetle\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ayton.id.au\/gary\/photos\/macro\/P1170389-1.JPG\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ayton.id.au\/gary\/photos\/macro\/P1170389-1.JPG\" alt=\"stag beetle\" width=\"600\/\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Panasonic GH-1 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ayton.id.au\/wiki\/doku.php?id=photo:microfourthirds\" target=\"_blank\">Micro Four Thirds camera<\/a> with Olympus ZD 50mm f\/2.0 macro lens and Canon ring flash at f\/16.<\/p>\n<p>The ring flash was hand held away from the lens.<\/p>\n<p>Some vignette added in Lightroom.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I found this lovely beetle whilst going for a jog in a Eucalypt woodland near Melbourne and he obligingly sat on my hand for the long walk back to my car.
