{"id":652,"date":"2009-01-07T21:38:59","date_gmt":"2009-01-07T11:38:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ayton.id.au\/wp02\/?p=652"},"modified":"2009-01-07T21:38:59","modified_gmt":"2009-01-07T11:38:59","slug":"skill-and-patience-can-be-more-important-than-equipment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.ayton.id.au\/wp02\/?p=652","title":{"rendered":"Skill and patience can be more important than equipment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was browsing through the top ranked photos for the last month on <a href=\"http:\/\/photo.net\/gallery\/photocritique\/filter\">photo.net<\/a>, and at number 9 was this one which caught my eye:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/gallery.photo.net\/photo\/8416591-md.jpg\" alt=\"dragon fly\" width=600\/><\/p>\n<p>by one Antonio Diaz.<\/p>\n<p>Now thats a pretty impressive effort, nicely composed, nice background and bokeh, and catching the dragonfly in mid-flight &#8211; a pretty good effort and surely he must have used the latest Canon with EF 180mm L macro lens.<\/p>\n<p>I look at the <a href=\"http:\/\/photo.net\/photodb\/photo?photo_id=8416591\">details<\/a> and to my great surprise, it was taken with an <strong>Olympus E500 with a 40-150mm lens<\/strong> (presumably the kit lens)!<\/p>\n<p>Now that makes the photo even more impressive in my view!<\/p>\n<p>Well done Antonio!<\/p>\n<p>Message &#8211; use what you have and learn to use it well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was browsing through the top ranked photos for the last month on photo.net, and at number 9 was this one which caught my eye: by one Antonio Diaz.
