• RV and caravan owners would probably prefer to have a combined AC inverter - DC Charger device which makes life far more simple as it can seemlessly:
  • When connected to AC supply:
    • charge your lithium battery from AC power supply
    • go into AC bypass mode and power your AC devices
  • When not connected to AC supply:
    • go into AC inverter mode to power your AC devices from your battery (often with <20msec switching so it may be able to act like a Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) )
    • some also have DC-DC charging:
      • this allows charging of battery from the vehicle alternator
    • some also have solar charging with inbuilt MPPT solar controller:
      • this allows charging of batter via solar panels
• these are generally designed to be safely mounted and grounded to vehicle and will require adequate ventilation

  • for most campers 2000W AC inverter will be optimum but this will require 200A BMS to power it with a 250-300A inline fuse to the battery
