  • although I am not aware of any hardships placed upon, or deaths of indigenous peoples of Australia by my direct ancestors, and on the contrary, some of them did actively try to help the indigenous peoples at times which including raising orphaned children and supporting them to adulthood, the “British invasion” which some of my ancestors were part of through choice or through transportation has severely impacted the lives and cultures of the Australian indigenous population, and my apologies go to them and their leaders past, present and future
  • apart from Capt Brabyn, none of my ancestors had any large valued land holdings such as those by Henty and the pastoralists who did actively displace the indigenous peoples

Glare's Bridge - a stone bridge built by James GLARE which still stands today in Rosebrook near Port Fairy near the Princes Highway.
