Tanxianzhe FunUnique Ring Pavilion 2-3P Hexagonal Air Tent
Introduction
- Tanxianzhe model TZX-2194S made by Shaoxing Shangyu Camper;
- budget compact, fun, inflatable tent made in 2025
- this would make a great quick insect-proof fair weather tent for 1-2 people but would need care
- it would be super fast to set up in adverse weather - as long as it is well pegged down first - and if guyed out may tolerate fairly strong winds
- whilst air beam tents tend to do well in strong winds, the smaller diameter beams on this tent make me feel it may not be storm-worthy and you probably should have a back up 2P hiking tent in case of severe weather, and if prolonged rain is likely, add a tarp or two just to be sure
- it does have at least 6 guy rope trip hazards so make sure they are visible at night eg. clip on glow in dark fishing rod accessories
Specifications
- 146cm sides measuring 2.92 x 2.52 x 1.65m;
- 150D 210T “3-section PU” silver-coated Oxford polyester with inner black coating (albeit imperfect) including floors but no mention of waterproofing rating although some web pages suggest > 2000mmPU but this is for the same weight 600D version which does not add up! And some say 300D?
- 2 sides are clear PVC windows on the Temu model I bought but it seems all the ones on Aliexpress have 4 mesh windows and no PVC windows and no awning poles!
- 2 sides are mesh windows with inner fabric, 1 small PVC ceiling;
- 2 sides are full sized doors with meshed (B4 mesh) + fabric both zip from the bottom plus a top mounted awning door;
- all windows and doors have storm flaps
- 6 guy out points each have a ringlet to clip on the V straps from an optional roof fly which doesn't seem to be available
- 5.3sqm floor; seam sealed;
- 3.15“ 5 layer TPU air beams
- top mesh storage plus 2 ceiling hooks on one side near the centre
- each air beam has a loop from which to hang items
- 6.19kg (7.71kg with pump, 2 awning poles, etc); packs to 60x30x30cm;
- NB. the provided awning poles are longer than 60cm - you may prefer to use your own poles.
- https://www.temu.com/goods_snapshot.html?goods_id=601101656784593 $AU279 incl. PVC windows
- https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005009481598159.html khaki ~$AU230 but no PVC windows and no awning poles
My Review
- this is a fun tent for 1-2 people with great visibility but also good privacy options
- can squeeze in a king single mattress and a single stretcher bed with a bit of walking space between
- fits the Zempire Twin Monstabed easily (the Zempire Monstapump comes with an attachment which could pump this tent up)
- my one came in a bronze-gold color which looks very nice
- very easy set up and take down
- just peg each hexagonal corner out
- ensure the inflation port is screwed in firmly to avoid it leaking
- use the provided compact hand pump to pump it up - only takes about 10-20 pumps
- screw the port cap on
- guy it out
- reverse process to pack it up
- survived moderate rain without leaking however, the 2nd cheaper version I bought did leak at the bottom of the windows where the pockets were sewn in, so additional seam sealing is advisable
- I would prefer to have a tarp over the top and a door way
- I would also use a top tarp for sunny days to reduce the heat inside although the 2 meshed doors, 2 meshed windows and the ceiling vent should provide good ventilation
- I would also place a tarp under the floor to protect it and consider a mat on top of it as well for added protection
- my tips
- make sure you guy it out well and have these well pegged down otherwise wind will cause havoc with this tent
- I would protect the floor from above (mat) and below (tarp)
- in mosquito season, as the internal space is quite big for mozzies to hide in, I would use a mosquito net hanging from roof, or a 1P or 2P inner tent
- for heavy or prolonged rain, I would add a tarp over the top and one of the doors to add extra protection and amenity
- for sunny days, I would add a blockout tarp over the top
