- I don't sell any of these nor do I receive any remuneration if you buy them, and I have not personally reviewed all of them, they are listed here to give you perspective
Introduction
- 12“ easily portable gas pizza oven, great for taking camping as well as use at home
- https://www.barbequesgalore.com.au/p/gozney-tread-portable-pizza-oven---olive/GOZTREADO.html ~$AU899 ($AU749 on special)
- complete optional extras including case, “tripod” stand, 2 peels, roof rack and front platform is ~$AU2000 (perhaps $AU1650 on special)
- as with most pizza ovens you should also buy a infrared thermometer to check pizza stone temperature as the temperature gauge only gives the air temperature
Specifications
- 12” pizzas; 13.5kg; designed for portability;
- LPG gas only;
- removable stone;
- side flame for easy visualization of crust status; you do need to rotate the pizza;
- on full output, it reaches pizza cook temperature in 20-30 minutes which at ~275g propane / hr = 4-5g/minute = 90-130g propane
- better heat control and much lighter than the Roccbox
- the front opening has a curve at the top half which limits the size of cast iron ware:
- widest is ~31cm to max 30mm height
- for 40mm height width is ~30.5cm and at 50mm height width is ~30cm, at 60mm width is ~28cm at max. height of 80mm, width is 200mm
- will fit a 4cm high 26-30cm diameter cast iron skillet but not the CampFire 3.2 quart 26cm diameter oven which 8cm high as the front opening is curved
- should fit two rectangular 15cm wide skillets
Optional Gozney Tread extras
- travel bag
- 50x55cm and is an essential accessory to help carry it, protect it and keep the gas piping, peels, etc together
- is ~12-14cm too wide to fit in the boot of a car along with a 35L Dometic fridge and a 12V auxiliary battery side by side, but you could fit it sideways next to fridge and put the 12v battery behind it sideways
- roof rack
- not essential but has a removable pizza chopping board and underneath that is a platform suitable for placing very hot cast iron cookware which makes it very handy
- mantel
- this slides in the front to provide an extra wide platform which is almost essential to help you manage cast iron cooking, but also handy for pizzas
- stores inside the oven for transport
- Venture stand quadpod
- a tripod like support with 4 legs, has a bubble level at top
- not essential but very handy if you don't have a metal table
- placement peel
- designed to store in the lid of the travel bag along with the turning peel and the gas tubing
- turning peel
- whilst you could get away without a placement peel, for pizzas, this is an essential tool
- for beginners, just use this to slide the pizza off the turning peel rather than risk a failure to launch the pizza resulting in the toppings only launching into the oven
