snow chains
alternative route is 460km or 5.5hrs via Bairnsdale & Omeo with Dinner Plain township on the Omeo side of Mt Hotham Resort - ski hire & snow chains at Bairnsdale or Omeo
over-snow transport not required as visitors can unload their vehicles at their accommodation then park in the nearest car space ($26/day?) which can be some distance away, but regular courtesy vehicles operate late into the night.
parking attendants will direct you to the car spaces.

Mt Buffalo Chalet is unfortunately now closed permanently
camping is available at Lake Catani but need to book online
